Issue #1 — CGL Coverage Limits
Your limits may no longer meet state minimums
Utah now requires $1,000,000/$3,000,000 CGL coverage — a 10x increase from the previous $100K/$300K requirement. Many insurance companies don't offer this new limit of insurance requirement. See DOPL rule R156-55a.
Issue #2 — Scope of Work Exclusions
Your CGL policy may not cover what you actually do
Over 50% of contractors carry CGL policies that exclude key parts of their scope of work. Under DOPL rule R156-55a-501, this is considered unprofessional conduct.
